About VESTA
VESTA is a survivor-led social enterprise developing technology and resources to remove barriers that keep survivors from reaching safety and support.
Our Story
Founded by survivors and allies, VESTA combines lived experience, research, and technology to improve how communities respond to gender-based violence.
The work started in Kingston, Ontario, where our first pilot brought together frontline organizations, police services, and university researchers. What began as a local project revealed a national need for digital tools that make disclosure safer and give frontline staff a clear, consistent way to respond.
The results were impossible to ignore: survivors using the VESTA platform reported to police at nearly eight times the national average.
Today, we’re building on that success through the Resilience in Action initiative, adapting our model with newcomer and immigrant-serving organizations. The aim is to make sure every survivor—no matter their language, culture, or status—can find help that feels safe and trustworthy.

"Our north star is impact, not downloads. We measure success in safety, trust, and transformation."

Mission
To significantly improve the lives of survivors of gender-based violence by combining technology, trauma-informed design, and community-led education.
We operate at the intersection of technology, justice, and community care. This allows us to bridge sectors that too often work in isolation.
We focus on impact, not innovation for its own sake.
Everything we build starts with listening—to survivors and the people supporting them—to make sure it works where it’s needed most.
Vision
A world free from gender-based violence, where every survivor has access to justice, healing, and empowerment, no matter their background, status, or circumstance.
